The collection’s most famous resident, Frans Hals’ Laughing Cavelier, a Baroque masterpiece named as such by the Victorian press despite clearly being an early proponent of the smize...

Inspired by the character’s cheeky demeanor, I decided to make him wink directly at viewers by turning the image in to a ‘flip’ lenticular. This was then applied to merchandise that made up part of our range displayed in the Wallace Collection’s newly designed shop.
